"Cindy's Winter in Amsterdam!"/Page 16

Cindy being fashionable in Amsterdam!  You have to try to blend in when you go someplace, so along with my crazy shoes and bug hat, I'm wearing the required black coat for once instead of my pink parka!  I always imagine I'll be really fashionable when I'm traveling and bring a thousand pounds worth of luggage, but once you get there you realize you really can't walk all over town in high heels like Victoria Beckham.  Well, she can, and the European ladies can, but I can't!  I'm used to monkey tee shirts and flip flops and warm weather--and no cobblestones!  I think I should get major points for dressing up for breakfast and making it around the buffet and marble floor without falling off my dress shoes!

Cindy loves Audrey!  My favorite movie star and Dutch girl is Audrey Hepburn.  I didn't see anyone at all like her in Amsterdam, so it had to be me!  You can never go wrong with Audrey Hepburn style.  And a big black French poodle with false eyelashes!

Cindy visits the Rembrandt House!  My absolute favorite thing in Amsterdam beyond all else was my visit to Rembrandt's House with Joey.  Imagine, being in Rembrandt's actual house, standing where he stood and painted, looking out his window, gazing at his box bed and being in the kitchen where he quarreled with his mistress!  Oh, it was pure heaven!  And to make it even better, an artist gave a demonstration of how to make a copper etching.  I wanted to move in and stay forever!

Cindy and Tiki crash a Renaissance masterpiece!

Cindy loves Desigual!  My absolutely favorite favorite favorite shop in Amsterdam is the most fantastic clothing boutique I have ever ever seen, Desigual, which means "not the same," and that is an understatement!  It's all fantastic and designed by a real Spanish artist and the styles are like a cross between tribal style and wild Andy Warhol pop art!  I would go in and gaze at everything like it was a gallery so many times, it was a total blast to pop in there and let my imagination run wild.  At the very end of my visit to Amsterdam, I bought the pair of wild "Pants Out of Space" I'd had my eye on for weeks.  I was so excited about them, they were so fabulous, I somehow sold another pair to the lady shopping next to me in the dressing room who loved how they looked, too, and the staff actually wanted to hire me!  I love their designs so much, I bet I could sell out the entire store in one day!
