Meet Harry Blackstone, Sr!

  Isn't he dapper?  I love his fierce expression. Harry Sr. was a great 20th Century magician best known by the public for giving away bunny rabbits at his shows!  Best known otherwise for his Dancing Handkerchief, Floating Light Bulb, and ...Buzz Saw!

According to family lore, my grandfather either worked for Harry Blackstone Sr. (and  later lost an entire trunk of magic memorabilia from the experience in a dispute with his landlord), or he worked at the Blackstone Hotel (or possibly walked by it), or quite possibly he just chewed Blackjack Gum.  My mother changes her stories from time to time just to keep life interesting.  But, she did see Harry Sr. perform once when she was a child, and that story she stands by!

Please don't call Candy PETA.  This marshmallow bunny was glued back together right after this photo shoot.  It is now  living happily on a shelf in my kitchen as an ongoing experiment to discover how long it takes for a Marshmallow Peep to petrify.  So far, three years and no luck!    Or is that four?  Science is not my strong point.
