4.  Gold Beaded Evening Bag

This fabulous piece is a beautiful yellow silk satin evening bag with an ornate golden sequin and beading floral design.  It is deep and folds in half, with the reverse side that is folded inward having a nice sprinkling of sequins.  It has a gold barrel-clasp opening, and a separate zipper compartment for lipstick or tickets on the inner side of the fold.  The inside of the bag is of the same beautiful fabric, and there is a tag that says Made in Hong Kong.  The bag is thickly padded and luxuriously weighty, 7 ounces or 200 grams.  Imagine, nearly half a pound!  It feels good to hold it.  The yellow fabric is soiled from much use, not only outside, but inside where hands must have opened and reached inside for tickets, lipsticks, opera glasses, and sundry items many, many times.  However, the fabric inside the zipper pocket is pristine, and shows the original gorgeous yellow.  I think the wear only adds to its charm, knowing whose hands handled it on many no doubt festive occasions.  I wonder about all the places it must have gone with Chrystal.  A very important piece in the collection.  The dimensions are 4 1/2 inches tall, folded, by 8 inches wide; 8 1/2 inches long unfolded.  Or, 12 cm tall, folded, by 20 1/2 cm wide; 22 cm long unfolded.  Here it is.  This is the front, folded.

This is the reverse:

This is the front of the bag, opened up flat, or unfolded:

This is the reverse of the bag, the side that folds in:

Here is the bag opened up:

And with the little zipper pocket unzipped:

Take a peek at the virgin fabric inside the zipper pocket.  The outer fabric photographs as if it is less bright, which is not true, it is just as bright, only a bit dirty.

There you have it, Chrystal's Gold Beaded Evening Bag.  Isn't it a beauty?

Let's move along to the next exhibit!
