"Cindy's Winter in Amsterdam!"/Page 6
Our friends Emma and Marc arrive in Amsterdam in style! Joey said they flew over to Holland in a plane but I secretly think it's more likely they magically flew over in a Mini Cooper or a black London taxi cab like Supernanny or using a classic British umbrella like Mary Poppins. |
My friend Emma is super nice and funny and writes the most hilarious emails ever! So of course she must have her own fashion layout for Cindy Vogue! I am sure she also made the cover. Emma is the kind of nice friend who, if you have bought a crazy three-shades-of-bright-pink kids' snow parka with a fluffy hood at the very last minute to wear in Amsterdam where everyone else wears black coats, not only says she loves it but will actually trade coats with you and wear it and say she's got to get one, too! And if you say you love love love crazy reality TV shows, she will admit she does, too! |
Marc is super nice and funny too and not only a famous TV mentalist in the UK, but also one of Joe's best friends. It was fun watching Marc and Joe, two world famous mentalists, sitting at tables in restaurants doing countless amazing magic tricks for Marc's son Jake while Jake raptly watched and tried to guess how they were done and to learn them. Little did the other diners realize the earth-shaking moments in magic history that were taking place in their midst! I couldn't help thinking how many mentalists and magicians would have given their right arms to be there! |
Jake is Emma and Marc's young son. He is so clever and funny and made us laugh so many times! One day he amazed us all by spontaneously doing the most hilarious impression of a Benny Hill statue saluting outside a wax museum. Another time we were touring the Anne Frank house with it's zillions of steep and narrow stairs which are a nightmare if you are afraid of heights like me, and I was nervously trying to navigate them in too-big snow boots while dizzy with the flu, when Jake happily informed me, "Cindy! These next stairs look really scary and dangerous!" I almost fell down them laughing! |
Daisy is Emma and Marc's little daughter. She has the most amazing personality and the most amazing personal style! One day she loved the colorful Paul Frank tee shirt I was wearing that had pink and white stripes and a crazy picture all over its front of cute kids sitting at school desks opening Valentine cards. Over and over she would point at me and I would have to take off my sweater to show her the picture on my shirt again, and she would then beam her delighted approval! I really think she is going to be an artist because when she enjoyed a plate of spaghetti with her fingers, it was like the most fun performance art ever! That's exactly how I got my start--I achieved early family fame for shampooing my hair with blueberry pie! |
